Pastor James Bowie

Pastor James Bowie, II was born in Abilene, TX and raised in Flint, MI by his loving parents, now Pastor and Mother James Bowie Sr.- St. George Bethel Church of God in Christ. Pastor James Bowie received his foundational training in the faith at St. George Bethel C.O.G.I.C under the leadership of Bishop Arthur G. Burrell. It was there he observed the power of prayer and ministry of the Holy Spirit. At an early age Pastor Bowie witnessed miracles, signs and wonders and even the dead being raised; these demonstrations impacted his perspective of the ability of God.
In 1997, Pastor Bowie married the love of his life, Missy Salina J. Bowie and since then have been blessed with 3 wonderful children, Kaitlyn, Kelly and Kevin, all of whom supports the ministry. In 2002, God joined Pastor Bowie and his family to El-Shaddai Ministries C.O.G.I.C where he acknowledged his call to preach the Word of God and served as a minister. While undergoing training and development, Pastor Bowie learned the true meaning of servant-leadership under the ministry of Supt. Steve A. Hawkins, Sr. In 2004, Pastor Bowie was ordained an elder in the COGIC under Bishop Walter E. Bogan Sr., Jurisdictional Prelate- Great Lakes First COGIC. As an elder and among many ministry assignments Pastor Bowie served as Sunday School Supt. at his local church (El Shaddai Ministries COGIC). As his personal ministry progressed and the work of the Lord abounded, Pastor Bowie was impressed by the Holy Spirit in 2009 to transition to House of Prayer Full Gospel C.O.G.I.C, where he served faithfully assisting the late Pastor James M. Gill, Sr..
In 2012, Pastor Bowie was officially appointed to the office of Pastor under the leadership of Bishop P. A. Brooks, Jurisdictional Prelate of the Historic First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Michigan and having the help of the Lord he continues. Pastor Bowie is a 2007 graduate of Spring Arbor University and is committed to studying the Word of God. God has gifted Pastor Bowie with revelation of the Word of God and with a mighty teaching anointing that empowers hearers of the Word to be doers of the Word. Pastor Bowie is called and compelled to “Win the lost and Equip the won”.
