How it all started...
1 Kings 9:3
And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there forever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
The House of Prayer Full Gospel COGIC was founded in 1977 by the late Elder James M. Gill, Jr. under the leadership of Bishop P.A. Brooks, Jurisdictional Prelate- Northeast Michigan COGIC. With the unfailing support of his wife, the late Mother Ruby J. Gill and additional support from his family and the faith community, HOP was truly God-breathed.
Elder Gill served as a faithful husband and loving man of God, laboring both in the Word and in Prayer. Elder Gill’s love for God, passion to help those in need (local and foreign missions) and wisdom in business greatly contributed to the success and effectiveness of HOP. For many years the ministry continued and grew under Pastor Gill’s leadership until the Lord called him home in October of 2011.
Serving faithfully under Pastor Gill, the Lord chose Elder James O. Bowie to feed the flock of God and was installed and appointed pastor in February of 2012 and is yet leading with faith, love and integrity. With his wife, Missy Salina J. Bowie, by his side the church and its kingdom-mission continue to be advanced. House of prayer Full Gospel COGIC, a Bible-based ministry where the Word of God is taught, the love of God is known and shown and prayer and praise is to Him alone.
